Goa is a State in the West region of India, with its capital at Panaji. It sends 2 Members to the Lok Sabha and 1 to the Rajya Sabha, and elects a 40-member Legislative Assembly. In the 2022 Assembly election (14 Feb 2022, turnout 79.6%), the leading parties won: Bharatiya Janata Party 20, Indian National Congress 11, Aam Aadmi Party 2. The next Assembly election is due in Feb–Mar 2027.
