Tripura is a State in the North-East region of India, with its capital at Agartala. It sends 2 Members to the Lok Sabha and 1 to the Rajya Sabha, and elects a 60-member Legislative Assembly. The current government is led by Chief Minister Manik Saha (Bharatiya Janata Party), in office since 15 May 2022. In the 2023 Assembly election (16 Feb 2023, turnout 89.9%), the leading parties won: Bharatiya Janata Party 32, Tipra Motha Party 13, Communist Party of India (Marxist) 11. The next Assembly election is due in Feb 2028.
